DON'T EVER start a webcomic because you want to make a bunch of money. Your webcomic has to be a pretty decent size in order to make any significant money off of it. Very rarely a webcomic will make what someone would call "A bunch of money", so having that end goal is a little too ambitious.
You should only start a webcomic because you have a passion for it and want to share your art with the internet. In the beginning, you'll have a handful of readers if your lucky. If you keep at it thought and keep producing good comics, good things can and will happen. But when you start, it takes a lot of passion and love to keep you going when there aren't that many eyes seeing your hard work.
